How To Care For Platinum


All precious metals scratch, and platinum is no exception. It is unique in that the metal is only displaced, not lost. Have your platinum jewelry polished if you are interested in maintaining a high shine. Look for a qualified jeweler or platinum trained bench worker for all adjustments, resizing, polishing and cleaning.

Store pieces separately, in a jewelry box or chamois bag so they don’t get scratched by other items.

Clean platinum in the same way you clean other fine jewelry to maintain its fine appearance and ensure that it lasts. Either use a mild solution of soap and warm water, and gently rub it with a soft cloth, or buy a jewelry cleaning solution.

Remove your platinum jewelry when undertaking heavy work. It is also advisable not to handle bleach or harsh chemicals when wearing your jewelry. Although they won’t hurt the platinum, chemicals may discolor diamonds or gemstones.

Where do you source your Diamonds?

Our diamonds are purchased from legitimate sources who are not involved in funding conflict and are in compliance with United Nations resolutions. We only buy from diamond suppliers that guarantee the diamonds are conflict-free, based on personal knowledge and/or written guarantees provided by the supplier of these diamonds.

All of our diamonds in our jewelry pieces are G-H color or higher, SI-1 clarity or higher. Our focus is on the fine stone cutting that unlocks the beauty of these treasures of the earth.

How do I clean my ring

How do I clean my ring?

It’s always good to ask a professional first to be certain of safely cleaning your pieces. We are happy to discuss this with you or do it for you. We recommend having your fine jewelry inspected by a professional every six months (just like the dentist).

For a quick home cleaning on gold & platinum jewelry, combine warm water with a splash of lemon ammonia in a small bowl or jar. Place your items into the solution for a few minutes (no pearls, turquoise, coral or other porous gems please). Remove and rinse very well under running water being certain the drain is covered. Use an old toothbrush to lightly remove the residue that collects underneath the stones, and in nooks and crannies too.

Sterling silver can be shined up with a rouge cloth quite easily. Some liquid silver cleaners are not the best choice for jewelry.

Where do you source your Gemstones?

We are passionate about gems! Our resources from around the world supply us with sapphires of every color, red rubies, a rainbow of tourmalines, black, white and boulder opal, and probably anything else you desire. Our graduate gemologist analyzes and inspects the gemstones for excellence in cutting and of course, proper color.

Where do you source your Metals?

The precious metals we use include gold, platinum, palladium, sterling silver, fine silver and are recycled from the Earth’s existing metal supply, which means we do not buy metals from mining companies.

We recycle all of our metal scrap, right down to the vacuum cleaner bags. We’ve installed sink traps that collect heavy metals to keep it out of the water system. Every tiny bit is sent to our refiner, who is committed to the social responsibility of our environment as well.

It is our moral obligation to continually respect basic human rights around the world and to protect the environment by conserving energy and recycling.

Do you buy gold?

What if my item is out of stock?

If the piece you want is not in stock, you may order it. Many items can be completed in a few days, however most special orders take 3-4 weeks. We always do our best to help you get it when you need it.

Do you do Custom Jewelry Design?

We are custom design specialists and we feel we are the best because of our experience. We have FIVE DESIGNERS ON STAFF, each with Bachelors in Design degrees. Collectively, we have a lifetime of custom jewelry design experience to share with you and create your special piece.  Just call or email us to discuss the details of your design.

We have CAD design professionals on staff with over 15 years of custom design experience. We are the experts in making jewelry beautifully fit the body using your style and preferences.

All Special Order pieces require 50% deposit of the purchase price and is charged to your account when the order is placed, and the balance is charged upon shipment. If you are ordering a completed piece, the full purchase will be charged to your account upon shipping.

Please understand that we cannot accept returns of Special Order pieces.

We are committed to providing our customers with a secure shopping environment. We maintain practices and procedures designed to ensure the security, integrity and confidentiality of customer information.


We are required to collect Kansas sales tax for any order originating in or picked up in our Kansas store and also shipped within Kansas. We are not required to collect sales tax for orders originating from outside Kansas and shipped outside of Kansas. Out-of-state customers should know they are responsible for declaring and paying use tax in their home state.

What is your Return Policy

PHILIP VOETSCH guarantees the workmanship and materials in our pieces. We want you to absolutely love your jewelry. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied, you may return any unworn and undamaged item(s) within 7 days of receipt for a full refund, exchange or merchandise credit. Please let us know ahead of time if you would like a refund or merchandise credit. In the instance that you must return something, you may return your order for a full refund under these circumstances:

  • You have been given a Return Authorization Number prior to mailing jewelry.
  • You must get a Return Authorization Number within two weeks of purchase date.
  • It is in new, unworn condition.
  • All parts are original (chains, etc). Damaged or altered diamonds will not be accepted for return.
  • If anyone outside of our studio alters our piece in any way, we will no longer be responsible for the craftsmanship or integrity of the piece and with not accept it for return or repairs.
  • Merchandise must be accompanied by original packaging and receipt.

If any of these requirements are not met, we reserve the right to either refuse the return, or charge a restocking fee depending upon the circumstances. Please note that any returns of purchases paid by credit card will be subject to a 3% restocking charge.

We will make the items exactly the size that is on your order, so please be certain of your ring size and all other details. Please understand that we cannot accept returns of Special Order pieces. Any ring that is made to fit a stone other than the specified size and shape stone on the ring we offer on the site is considered a Special Order and is not returnable. Any ring ordered with any alteration other than our original design is considered a Special Order and is not returnable.

What is your Shipping Policy?

Everything is shipped with the United States Post Office via Express Mail overnight shipping unless other carriers are necessary.

Items ordered prior to 3:oo p.m. Central Standard Time will be sent the day of order. Items ordered after this time will be sent the following day. If you need it shipped the same day – please call us! We will do whatever we can to send your order the same day.
